Egypt, the country of the Nile, has been part of Dr. Nadja Tomoum’s life since childhood and is her second home. The director of the Goldkammer gained extensive knowledge of ancient Egyptian civilization studying Egyptology. She lived and worked in Cairo for eleven years, researching contemporary culture and immersing herself in the life of modern Egyptians.

“In Egypt, gold is more plentiful than dust” – this statement, attributed to the Mitanni King Tušratta, gives us an impression of the extensive gold deposits available in Egypt around 1,400 BC. Its residents used the gold to create breathtaking artworks, including the legendary treasures from Tutankhamun’s tomb. Today these treasures are world-famous and continue to fascinate people.

For the first time, the Goldkammer with its unique exhibition architecture offers a fascinating location for the latest digital lecture on November 6, 2020. Accompany the director of the Goldkammer online on a journey to the breathtaking gold treasures of the Pharaohs. The video will be available on the Goldkammer YouTube channel.
